the financial crisis in developing coutries ... hi
As regards our Wildlife Elephant project in Tanzania we are cooperating quite successfully with our relatively "new" project partner located at the beautiful Ndarakwai Ranch. Ndarakwai is over 11,000 acres in size and located in Siha District, West Kilimanjaro.
The privately owned ranch is an experiment in self-sustaining conservation preserving a variety of habitats that are home to over 65 mammal species, and 350 bird species (at last count). Ndarakwai is part of the Amboseli / Ngasurai Basin eco-system and helps to preserve important seasonal elephant routes. Many species are permanent residents, while others use Ndarakwai seasonally.
As the number of tourists in TZ decreased significantly the local incomes and funds from eco tourism for development projects decreased respectively. The p(e)d funds are needed very much to keep the rangers and anti-poaching troops going around Kilimanjaro.
