For over 20 years the Children's village at SALEM Kovahl has helped many children with emotional and behavioral problems towards a better life. Many children have found a home there. In SALEM the connection between Carers and Children is particularly close. In contrast to other institutions, carers and children live together as a family. In such a trusting and close environment it's possible to heal many emotional problems and pain which are otherwise untreatable.

What happens when the children grow up? "The children have put down their roots here, and we can't simply cut them off" says Dr Andreas Olszewski the Director of SALEM Kovahl. To this end the Adult Care Center of SALEM Neestahl offers young Adults the peace of mind of a permanent home in direct proximity to the children's village where they grew up. As ever more children reach maturity in the care of SALEM the adult care center is increasingly overbooked! No more room at The Inn!

However on the Neestahl property there is an empty stables with room enough to offer the solution to the growing pains of these young adults! It simply needs to be renovated and converted into living accommodation! It offers possibilities to create six flats with accommodation for 8 people. The best news: 295,000 EURO has already been donated! All we need is a further 25,000 EURO to complete the cost of financing this project!

Donations for this project are also being collected by SALEM from traditional channels. We will enter them here as "non-betterplace-donations". In this way we hope to use Betterplace as a live "donation barometer" to show the required donations remaining.

This time we are definitely asking for donations of an order higher than before! To that end it will be all the more satisfying when the first foundations for these new homes can be laid! THANKYOU! (a THANKYOU! also from a 'higher order'!)
