The Kwale Subdistict Hospital is responsible for the medical supply of more than 150,000 people in Kwale District.

In addition to the normal hospital life and the treatment of common injuries and illnesses, there are always region-specific emergencies. One of these special operations is the treatment of snake-bites.

This treatment is actually quite simple, the doctor just has to inject a snake serum injections. - Yes, really! -

Unfortunately the government does not approve the money to buy this life-saving serums.

In average there is one patient with a snake bite each month so the Kwale hospital needs only one vial anti-serum each month.
One vial costs 8.000 KES (about 80.00 Euro).

Only a few money to save one life.

The anti-serum against snake bites - especially for African poison snakes - is from South Africa and is available in the drug wholesaling.
