STAGE COMPANY-Violence prevention at German school

Our prevention modell „STAGE COMPANY – bringing your ideas on stage together“ is a music and dance project for young people.

Together with music and dance therapists, groups or whole classes in which persists violence, mobbing or other social conflicts practice, practise non-verbal forms of expression and communication. They plan and rehearse a performance with music, dance and elements of other art forms. At the end of the project the kids show the performance on stage.

The dynamics of this work process are binding and have long-lasting preventive effects on the group.

In 2007 STAGE COMPANY, among other projects, was featured by German public broadcasting station ARD in the special called „Children are the future“.

STAGE COMPANY has worked with the following groups:

· 5th grade of the comprehensive school Rastbachtal, Saarbrücken (project period February – May; performance May 11th)
· Students of different grades of the secondary school Am Schmelzer Wald, Sakt Ingbert (project period March – June 2007; performance June 12th)
· 6th grade of the secondary school, Homburg (project period March – June 2007; performance June 18th)
· 7th grade of the high school am Rothenbühl, Saarbrücken (project period June 2007; performance June 29th)
· 2nd grade of a primary school in Neunkirchen (project started in October 2007)

We need funding for musical instruments, all sorts of material used on stage, for masks, paint and for the salary of the therapists.
