The Problem
We have 36 kids to feed. Growing kids. Undersized but growing kids. They eat a lot. How are we going to feed them?
The Solution
Warm Heart Foundation is lucky to have 1.6 ha. of land and an agricultural inclination. We have banana, longan, mango and papaya trees; we grow ginger, lemon grass and kitchen vegetables; and we have chickens, cows, ducks, fish and pigs.
This is the Pigs for Kids project.
Pigs are the most profitable thing on our farm, and we need cash to buy all the things we cannot raise. But pigs are also expensive. We buy three little pigs every month. We fatten our pigs for 4 months and then sell them.
You could help Warm Heart a lot buy helping us buy piglets and pig food!
Oh, I almost forget to mention one of the most important benefits of pigs. We turn their poop into biogas and burn it instead of bottled gas for cooking. It saves money and saves the environment!
The Cost
One piglet: E30
Food for one pig: 42.50
Impact: After costs, each pig will net Warm Heart E47, enough to feed our children for 1.5 days!
