Der Paritätische Wohlfahrtsverband Niedersachsen e.V. ist einer der sechs Spitzenverbände der Freien Wohlfahrtspflege in Niedersachsen und Dachverband für fast 800 rechtlich und organisatorisch selbständige Mitgliedsorganisationen. Seinem Selbstverständnis nach ist der Paritätische Wohlfahrtsverband Niedersachsen e.V. Sozialanwalt der Bürgerinnen und Bürger Niedersachsens und Dienstleister für die angeschlossenen Mitgliedsorganisationen. Er nimmt in der Gesellschaft eine sozialpolitische Funktion wahr. Hauptzweck des Verbands ist die Förderung der Mitgliedsorganisationen.
