Under our Emergency Obstetrics Care (EOC) and conducting outreach centres Program. We have 25 out reach centers in our rural and tribal areas and 10 bedded Private Hospital. EOC program started in august 2008. From the very beginning we funded this program ourselves, but now the program has become very popular. From August 2008 to November 2009 we have done 379 major operations and 674 minor operations. Every week we accomplished two out reach programs. Our out reach centers are located in very remote place. Basically these out reach centres are aim at treating & to develop awareness on health of the people in rural & tribal areas of Habiganj. Considering the geographical nature of Habiganj, outreach centres are located at any convenient place (e.g. Union, Thana, Bazar, House of the Allied person etc) from where quality primary health care including bed side laboratories can be provided to rural & tribal people. A health team is working round the month under a fix schedule. On this team there is one medical officer, one medical assistant, lab technician and with sufficient volunteers. Local people help them to make communication with the villagers. They give primary medical treatment, mother& child care, care for pregnant women, vision testing program etc. Treatment covers all groups of ages. But emphasis is given to the maternal& child health. High risk or ambulant patients are referred to the hospital for proper management. Transportation for the program is managed by hired vehicles. Laboratories facilities help us early and easy diagnosis of high risk mother from such remote places. At present we are facing many difficulties in running this program due to the financial crisis. The population of our area is about 6 million. About 60% of the people are living under poverty level.
Collections in Germany are collected by the German charity "Deutsches "Blindenhilfswerk" who will the forward the funds to CRUD for the specified purpose.
