German medical aid organisation action medeor e.V.
Today the charitable, non governmental organisation action medeor e.V. is the largest medical aid organisation in Europe. medeor depends on the support of its donors to provide a wide range of services throughout the world.
Our goal
action medeor was established in 1964 to provide basic drugs and medical equipment to people in developing countries. medeor is also involved in fighting the poverty-related and tropical diseases HIV/Aids, tuberculosis and malaria. medeor works with the principle of helping people to help themselves.

Our philosophy: low cost medical aid
We support around 10.000 healthcare centres, particularly small facilities, in 140 countries. action medeor sends drugs and medical equipment to developing countries, either at cost price or as donations. Potential recipients of aid are asked to provide detailed information and authorisation by local officials or may receive a on-site visit. Our partners either commission the production of generic drugs or order them in bulk from European pharmaceutical manufacturers. These drugs are patent-free, high quality and low priced. We are able to offer high quality at a low price by buying in bulk and selling at cost price.
Our partners
Our aid is supplied in co-operation with different church and secular organisations, religious communities, private initiatives and healthcare centres abroad. Based on many years’ experience, action medeor has built up a comprehensive network of facilities in the healthcare sector.

    Bukoggolwa Widows and Orphans' Care Centre(BWOCC) is a voluntary non-organisation promoting
    developmental projects for sustainable develoment in Uganda.
    Our major target beneficiaries are women,youth,children,the elderly, and other vulnerable groups
    who most of the time lack access to medical services may be because of lack of finances to meet
    medical bills and long distances away from medical services.
    We are planning to construct a Medical Centre at Bukoggolwa, Gombe Parish,Kibibi Sub-County,
    Butambala District, Uganda, East Africa.
    The details concerning the Medical Centre will be forwarded in the future.
    The most common diseases are :
    - Malaria caused by mosquitoes and these affect mostly children and women.
    - Diseases as a result of HIV/AIDS Epidemic.

    Regarding Malaria , we have planned to reach 500,000 beneficiaries in our target areas.
    These are children,women,the disabled persons and internally dispalaced persons in
    Uganda.
    Therefore, we need 500,000 Treated Mosquitoe Nets for distribution to those target
    beneficiaries. Each treated mosquitoe net in Uganda costs 5 Euros.
    Our proposal is to start small with some specified number of treated mosquitoe nets
    for distribution until we cover all the target groups.
    We shall ensure that records are kept and financial accountability made at the end
    of the distribution exercise.

    We welcome all your contribution towards the prevention of spread of malaria
    in Uganda for the improvement of life of mothers,children and other members in
    society. Our overall goal is to have malaria free generation.

    Hallo,

    ich bin durch Zufall auf ihre Organisation gestoßen.
    In folgendem Artikel schreiben Sie, dass sie über betterplace 15.000€ erhalten haben.
    http://cms.betterplace.org/cms/mailing/bp_extra/091204/html_de.html

    Hier in Betterplace steht jedoch, es wurden nur 425€ an Projekte weitergeleitet. Was ist mit den übrigen 14.575€?

      by Steffi S., asked on 05 January 2010 at 09:34 PM
      Lieber Herr Schwanitz,

      Steffi Sczuka

    Hi,
    we are an youth organisation at Togo
    This is our project which you need help for his realisation.

    YOU ARE NOT ALONE

    SUMMARY OF PROJECT

    First edition of its kind, the project called "YOU ARE NOT ALONE" is a project to support vulnerable people, particularly the poor and orphans in order to contribute to their full social development.
    Initiated by the association called: Action for Youth Development (WO), he wants to be a project to support food and non food including clothing, couches, school supplies and other goods leading that takes account the vital needs of the needy.

    BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION
    In the current food crisis and rising prices of essential commodities affecting the world and which Togo is not spared, and after a survey and study in the villages Agbélouvé ( P. Zio) and Kouvé (P. Yoto) on the other hand, we found the following issues.

    At school level:
    - Inadequate resources to meet food due to rising costs;
    - Inadequate supplies and school uniforms;
    - Inadequate staffing of young girls in school;
    - Insufficient awareness on the importance of schooling for girls;

    In terms of health centers:
    - Lack of mattresses and blankets;
    - Increase the number of sick children due to malnutrition and lack of hygiene; - Early Pregnancy scale of our young sisters;
    - Lack of family planning of our mothers;
    - Lack of appropriate clothing for the sick;
    - Low range of awareness campaigns on STI / AIDS;

    After having read all this information and the establishment of what is required, ADJ thought provide some solutions to support these people in difficulties:

    - Animation and talk about relevant topics in schools;
    - Distribution of supplies and school uniforms
    - Food distribution;
    - Distribution of clothing;
    - Distribution of mattresses and blankets;
    - The outreach.
    For this reason, the Action for Youth Development (WO) in its determination to contribute to the achievement of the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) launched its program of support to the needy, the sick children in health centers and students called:
    "YOU ARE NOT ALONE"

    We used to say that "Youth are the backbone of the nation" then the question that arises is whether this statement applies to all children?
    Or only some? This question leads us to consider our vision and our behavior vis-à-vis a group of children (sick and needy)
    The project will span a period of two (02) weeks from December 12 to 19 and will include:
    In an initial plan to visit sick children in two (02) health centers include: Center for Health Agbélouvé (Zio Prefecture) and the Health Center Kouvé (Yoto Prefecture)

    In a second plan, (WO) will go to two schools namely: EPP to Agbélouvé Center (Zio Prefecture) and the EPP Kouvé Center (Yoto Prefecture) where we will discuss with students the importance of schooling followed by an animation.

    We proceed:
    - Organization of workshops

    - To support materially the best local students
    - Through the commitment of Action for Youth Development (WO) to support students and young people in need, educate other people or organizations to do likewise.
