German medical aid organisation action medeor e.V.
Today the charitable, non governmental organisation action medeor e.V. is the largest medical aid organisation in Europe. medeor depends on the support of its donors to provide a wide range of services throughout the world.
Our goal
action medeor was established in 1964 to provide basic drugs and medical equipment to people in developing countries. medeor is also involved in fighting the poverty-related and tropical diseases HIV/Aids, tuberculosis and malaria. medeor works with the principle of helping people to help themselves.

Our philosophy: low cost medical aid
We support around 10.000 healthcare centres, particularly small facilities, in 140 countries. action medeor sends drugs and medical equipment to developing countries, either at cost price or as donations. Potential recipients of aid are asked to provide detailed information and authorisation by local officials or may receive a on-site visit. Our partners either commission the production of generic drugs or order them in bulk from European pharmaceutical manufacturers. These drugs are patent-free, high quality and low priced. We are able to offer high quality at a low price by buying in bulk and selling at cost price.
Our partners
Our aid is supplied in co-operation with different church and secular organisations, religious communities, private initiatives and healthcare centres abroad. Based on many years’ experience, action medeor has built up a comprehensive network of facilities in the healthcare sector.

Bukoggolwa Widows and Orphans' Care Centre(BWOCC) is a voluntary non-organisation promoting developmental projects for sustainable develoment in Uganda. Our major target beneficiaries are women, youth, children, the elderly, and other vulnerable groups who most of the time lack access to medical services may be because of lack of finances to meet medical bills and long distances away from medical services. We are planning to construct a Medical Centre at Bukoggolwa, Gombe Parish,Kibibi Sub-County, Butambala District, Uganda, East Africa. The details concerning the Medical Centre will be forwarded in the future. The most common diseases are : - Malaria caused by mosquitoes and these affect mostly children and women. - Diseases as a result of HIV/AIDS Epidemic. Regarding Malaria , we have planned to reach 500,000 beneficiaries in our target areas. These are children, women, the disabled persons and internally dispalaced persons in Uganda. Therefore, we need 500,000 Treated Mosquitoe Nets for distribution to those target beneficiaries. Each treated mosquitoe net in Uganda costs 5 Euros. Our proposal is to start small with some specified number of treated mosquitoe nets for distribution until we cover all the target groups. We shall ensure that records are kept and financial accountability made at the end of the distribution exercise. We welcome all your contribution towards the prevention of spread of malaria in Uganda for the improvement of life of mothers, children and other members in society. Our overall goal is to have malaria free generation. Contact: Bukoggolwa Widows and Orphans' Care Centre(BWOCC) P.O.Box 8386, Kampala,Uganda, East Africa.
