betterplace.org is seeking a Senior Rails Developer to begin immediately.

We’re looking for engaged and qualified colleagues who can support us in this work.

Your role

You are an energetic member of our small but mighty Scrum Development Team. You work closely with the team, which is at once product owner and tester, in the technical conception and implementation of new features. And you will share responsibility for reaching our sprint targets.

What we expect …

  • At least 2 years experience in the development of web-applications
  • Or: at least a Master level qualification in computer science, media or a related area.
  • worked on several projects, ideally in Ruby or Rails
  • Excellent knowledge of Ruby as well as one other oject-oriented language
  • Sound knowledge of ICT basic principles
  • Experience with complex applications
  • Comfortable using MVC and REST
  • Interest in agile software development: pair-programming, test-driven development (we work with Cucumber and RSpec), incremental design, refactoring, etc.
  • Pragmatic, diligent, personal initiative and good technical understanding.
  • Confident working with Git and Linux/OS X Shell
  • Prepared to live in Berlin
  • If you come from outside the European Union, you must have a work permit for Germany
