Othandweni, which means “Place of Love” in Zulu and Xhosa, is situated in Mofolo South, Soweto. The centre offers residential care for up to 90 children of all ages who have been abused, abandoned or neglected. The Centre also has limited places available for destitute mothers or pregnant women who are contemplating the future of their unborn children.

    Hi, My name is Elora Turner and I am very impressed with your organization based on the recommendation you received from the Johannesburg Child Welfare organization. I am interested in volunteering with your organization or at least visiting the Othandweni Childrens Home site so I could observe how your work benefits youth and women in need. I am actually in need of a home-stay during in Soweto or Johannesburg from June 15th-July 5th and if there is anyway I can arrange a paid home-stay with staff from your organization as well as a volunteer position that would be incredible and much appreciated!
