DJ Sarah Adorable
CRIME
Demanding vocals, big kicks, big synths, lyrics bitter sweet and a voice tinged with desire, this is the new project CRIME from Mika Risiko and Sarah Adorable.
Queer, D.I.Y and punk at heart, they fuse elements to produce songs that span genres. The definitive 80s goth pop vibe is reminiscent of the new romantics era though steering away from cliches with a sound texturally diverse and fresh.
Risiko, one half of Berlin band, Sissters, retains that signature play on tension and release to mirror themes of vulnerability and heat and impulse. From the energetic, almost frantic percussion of ʻcan you wing itʼ to the growling synth driven track ʻthatʼs itʼ these songs are made for the dance floor.
Pulling influence from her career as international DJ and member of electro dance duo, Scream Club, Sarah shows us a darker side of Adorable weʼre gonna get to know better. Together, their stage presence is bold, confident, and commands our attention.
DJ Patrice Leiris
"From Toulouse, the south of France, Patrice Leiris started to play electronic music and organize parties in 1994. His first love was for minimal techno, especially Robert Hood (M-plant), Damon wild (Synewave), Jeff mills whom he played with twice (Purpose Maker tour). And at the same time he began playing House from Chicago ;-). Those first influences are still present in his set. Music is timeless ;-). Since 1996, he has also organized many parties call "Reminiscence" which French Djs such as Jef K, Dan Ghenacia, D'julz, Jerome Pacman turned up at. In 2001 he moved to Paris where he worked for a couple of years at Audio-Families Booking Agency and still enjoyed to play his music during parties and events like Sonar Midem or first PopKomm in Berlin. Leiris currently resides in Berlin making music and playing in clubs such as Katerholzig and many others.
MUSIC HIGHLIGHTS on saturday
Sandra Kolstad
Sandra Kolstad makes electronic pop music that’s danceable, explosive and extravagant.
An established star in Norway, she’s playlist and national newspaper material on her home turf, and has often been described as “Norway’s queen of electronic pop”. She was nominated at Oslo’s by:Larm festival for a new internationally-breaking artist, and early responses to her new album (Nothing Lasts) Forever suggest this was as much a premonition as a prediction. Known for her highly visual performances, Kolstad is a classically trained pianist with big ambitions for music’s live potential; as well as her expressive, joyful dancing and swathed in kaleidescopic projected lights, as well as accompaniment from drummer Kyrre Bjørkås who masters the noble art of drumming standing up, and skwee producer Sprutbass who is playing bass with Sandra. Kolstad’s live show is a tour-de-force that has seduced audiences across Europe, including at major festivals like Roskilde, Øya, Berlin Music Week and Slottsfjell, and at Roundhouse Rising and Ja Ja Ja in London Town.
