betterplace Foundation

The betterplace Foundation operates betterplace.org, enabling you to seek support for your initiative or to find and support the very project that means most to you.

100% is passed on: betterplace Foundation ensures that 100% of donations are channeled to their intended target. Therefore all of the Foundation’s overheads are covered through the profits made by betterplace Solutions GmbH and our partners.

Organisation & Governance

The betterplace Foundation is operationally managed by its CEO whilst the Founding Benefactors provide strategic direction as well as daily advice and input on many issues.

These roles are complemented by the Trustees and the Circle of Support, two groups that provide essential outside perspective and guidance to the Foundation’s management.

The five founding benefactors have also donated the starting capital of the betterplace Foundation, a non-profit limited liability company (gemeinnützige Stiftungs-GmbH).

Under the rules of German corporate and tax law and the foundation's charter, the benefactors formally own the shares of the foundation and exercise the legal rights of operational governance vis-a-vis the Foundation's management. However, the shares are of no economic value to the benefactors as they cannot be sold or used in any other profit-making way.

Trustees

The Trustees are a group of outstanding personalities who support betterplace through their public stature, their networks, their wisdom, and advice. Individually and as a group they review and help set the course for the future of betterplace.

Circle of Support

Main Sponsors and Enablers form the Circle of Support, a group of individuals as well as representatives from companies and institutions that meets regularly with the management and the founding benefactors of the betterplace Foundation to review and help set the course for the future of betterplace.

Organisation & Governance

All 100% of the betterplace Solutions limited liability company (GmbH) is owned by the betterplace Foundation and managed by its Managing Director Moritz Eckert.

Products & Services

The company develops the technical platform of betterplace and serves business clients and organisations with tools to present their social activities online, in particular on betterplace.org.

As Corporate Social Responsibility 2.0 pioneers, betterplace Solutions connects Corporations and NGOs, shares best practices and offers consulting in the field of corporate communication strategy.
